Breaktime Boogie by Zoë Booth for five or more flutes/flute choir

£ 9.95

Break Time Boogie is a fun piece in a jazzy style, to be played with swing quavers. After a four bar introduction for the whole ensemble, the main body of the piece starts with an alto flute solo, adding the higher parts one by one – each contributes a simple rhythmic riff, which weave together into an intricate accompaniment for the tune, played by first flute (doubled by optional piccolo). The central section, in unison rhythm, calls for clear articulation and dynamic changes, before the piece is once more deconstructed into its’ original small rhythmic units, ending with a squishy chord for the whole group!
