Notably Gossec was one of the first French composers to include clarinets in his 1761 symphony (one of the fifty he wrote) and he was also director of the band of the Garde Nationale at the Revolution, writing numerous works with a revolutionary theme.<\/p>This cheeky Gavotte has been arranged so that all players get a share of the tune, including the piccolo and often-neglected alto flute.
