Symondsbury Farewell by Zoë Booth for five or more flutes/flute choir and piano

£ 11.95

Symondsbury Farewell was composed as the finale to a residential music course (Flutes at the Barns) tutored by the composer in the village of Symondsbury, Dorset, in the summer of 2008. Initially inspired by both Irish folk melody and the adult musicians from the courses over the years, it was originally intended as a piece to be played by a group of friends shortly before parting to return to their homes; it has subsequently been performed many times on such an occasion. It was conceived for a mixed ability ensemble, with more than one to a part, accompanied by piano; the melody lines are shared between all parts, including the optional instruments.
