White Christmas by Irving Berlin, arranged by Zoë Booth for four or more flutes/flute choir

£ 9.10

Despite a childhood of extreme poverty and no formal music education Irving Berlin went on to have enormous Broadway success with his song- and lyric-writing, most notably with successful performances of his songs in the legendary Ziegfeld Follies and the popular tunes ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band,’ ‘Putting on the Ritz’ and ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business.’

This arrangement of White Christmas offers an alternative to the usual Christmas concert pieces; whilst the famous melody line is still prominent, it is underpinned by some unsuspecting harmonies and decorative flourishes, to keep both players and audiences entertained! The melody line is shared between all players, and optional alto and bass flute (and even Bb clarinet) may be incorporated to fill out the sound.
