His talent for music was said to have been dazzling; Liszt, famed for his own considerable talent, is thought to have considered Saint-S\u00e4ens the world\u2019s greatest organist.<\/p>The beautiful piece \u2018The Swan\u2019 was originally written for cello and orchestra as part of Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 witty orchestral piece \u2018The Carnival of the Animals,\u2019 and it was the only movement which he did not forbid to be performed during his lifetime!
