The William Tell Overture by Rossini, arranged by Zoë Booth for four or more flutes/flute choir

£ 13.95

The Italian composer Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868) is regarded ias an exceptional musical talent.  He wrote at a terrific pace, achieving his first success at the opera festival La Scala when he was only twenty years old, and many other operas were to follow.

Rossini’s famous William Tell Overture has been arranged here for flute choir into a shortened version suitable for concert performance.  In the opening section the famous ‘woodland’ flute theme is shared between flutes one and two, as an introduction to the whirling and racing Allegro for which this overture is so famous.  Piccolo, alto and bass flutes are optional, but work well, particularly when performing this piece with a flute choir and/or with more than one player to a part.
